BOOST ENGLISH. A Community Project. By SMK Taman Tun Dr Ismail

The project is an internet English tuition. It is to help the students to improve their English. We are focusing on students from the rural areas that we hope to capture from their school web/blog. We provide exercises and essays questions and will correct them. We will also provide videos on English communication and will plan Skype sessions to help them with their pronunciation.

Most students are shy to pronounce and communicate in English, therefore they can choose to cover up their webcam and just have conversation with us anonymously. This is to be a community project. It is our chance to help our peers as we share common interest being teenagers.

We plan to ask for minimal payment from our clients to help pay for the people who is correcting their papers. We are not into this for money and profit making. We would like to establish a networking of students improving English together.

We would require around RM5000 to start. We want to buy a laptop to help us to be on the move. We also need to hire someone to develop a fantastic website and blog complete with payment services to make it easier for our clients to pay us. And we will shop for fantastic online products like English games that although some are free, others do require payment on improving English.

This program is suitable for students who are shy to communicate in English anytime and anywhere. It is good for community networking and is affordable at only RM10 per month fee.

We would encourage you to connect your Facebook with pitchIN before you pitch to the project. If not, your pitch will be identified as "anonymous" in the Project Page. However, if you choose to pitch anonymously, pitchIN would still have your information. We think it would be just awesome if we can see and identify our supporters in the wall of pitchers.

A pitcher/pledger does not need a PayPal account to pitch or pledge. What he/she needs is a credit card (Mastercard/Visa) or a debit card.

However, if you are not comfortable doing an online pitch/pledge - you can transfer the money directly to the pitchIN account as follows:

Maybank 564892100684

WATCHTOWER AND FRIENDS SDN BHD is the company that owns and runs pitchIN.

However, the person must send pitchIN the proof of transfer by attaching the receipt to the email address: with the Subject Heading: BOOST ENGLISH. Upon receiving that, the folks at pitchIN can then quickly update the project page.

Thank you again and we do hope you will support the project!

Additional Information

Our team consist of Aiman and Irfan. We are both 13 years old and like to speak in English as a second language. We are trying to understand why it is slightly difficult for some students as we have all learned English since standard 1 (Age 7). We hope to be able to reach students all over Malaysia to join our tuition. We believe in peer to peer learning and is excited to be able to have the chance in making our project come true.
