Project Summary
1. Why Help Us?
There is a nationwide shortage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on the front lines in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite that, we see everyday folks turn into heroes to assist us in this time of need, namely front line workers. These front liners include members of the police force, military, volunteer personnel, doctors, nurses, hospital staff and many others.
2. Where Does Your Money Go?
Our independently-produced Face Shields cost RM2 per unit. This means, for every RM2 you donate, one face shield will go to a hospital nurse or a police officer, which will be invaluable for them as they risk their lives working in the front lines of this horrible pandemic. In addition to Face Shields, our production line includes Intubation Shields, Hospital Coveralls, and even R&D for ventilators! See appendix below.
3. Who Is Currently Helping Our Frontliners?
Volunteers across Sarawak have answered the call to join our decentralised production line. Maker communities all over Sarawak are currently offering their resources and expertise in order to 3D-print and manufacture face shields and intubatoion shields for these front liners. There are also groups of homemakers and tailors helping with the sewing of Hospital Coveralls such as head covers, boot covers, etc.
4. Who Are We?
This is a grassroot-initiated community effort spanning across Kuching, Sibu, Miri, and Bintulu.
